Controllable Construction of IrCo Nanoclusters and the Performance for Water Electrolysis

Finding a suitable catalyst is an important research direction in hydrogen (H2) production from water electrolysis. We report synthetic method to obtain IrxCo/C clusters by polyol reduction. The small size and can be evenly distributed. Ir3Co/C cluster had very good activity under acidic conditions. overpotential of the best-performing for oxygen evolution reaction (OER) (HER) only 290 mV 91 when 10 mA cm−2 100 cm−2. performance may improved because synergistic effect prepared catalyst, which accelerates proton transfer. This approach offers strategy reduce costs while improving catalytic activity.
